Good day
I would like to notify you of the service received at the Unitas Hospital in Centurion, yesterday the 7th may 2013 -13h00. My Son is a 6 year old Thalassemmia Major patient that requires a blood transfusion every three weeks. He has been receiving treatment at the Johannesburg Academic (Charlotte Maxeke - Government hospital). Due to economies of scale, we have begun doing the transfusion at your hospital (UNITAS)
Points of concern:
1) Pre- admin - there is always a wait of up to 30 minutes to obtain the file, despite all the rig-marole, of organising this a few days before admission & booking a bed the day.
a. Is there not an easier process of having the file delivered to the ward nurses (as regular patient), thus cutting out this frustration for both pre-Admin staff & patient? If we are chronic/ regular patient can we not have beds pre-booked?
b. TV-Sets- quite shocking that a private hospital does not have television sets in working condition.
c. Equipment used for transfusion is very old & out dated
d. Wards very Noisy & overcrowded
e. Vermaak & Venote- pathology- the staff are dis-organised & inexperienced
Kindly review & address ASAP.
