My son was gifted a Google Play card and when I tried to redeem it for him, it would not work. I contacted the person who had bought it and had it activated and they said it was purchased from Checkers Hyper in Meadowdale Mall Edenvale. The redeeming process goes as far as saying that I am about to add R200 Google play credits to my account. When I click on redeem, it says I need to provide them with further details as well as the receipt for where it was bought. It was a gift and the person who purchased it no longer has the receipt. What must I do? As this is a big loss, it's R200 wasted. I have tried everything to get it to work, but to no avail. I think the purchaser was scammed by the staff at Meadowdale Checkers Hyper and I need this issue to be resolved as soon as possible. It is not just the loss of the money but the disappointment of my young son. I am a single mom and i asked somebody else to assist me in buying this for my son's birthday, as I am struggling financially. Please advise how I can get this matter rectified as my son is still waiting for his birthday present and it's been over a month already, as nobody at Google is able to assist me. I sincerely hope that the retailer will be able to assist me as soon as possible.
