In March 2021 I went to Russells and Lay By a bed (Sealy Posturepedic) of R6500.
On Saturday 28th of August 2021 I went to pay the difference of +- R4500 cash which I saved to buy the bed, I was told that the delivery fee will be R350 as the bed will be coming from the warehouse, I also heard the salesman tell the Manager that this is the last One, I then told them I don't want a demo bed I want a new one and the Manager said I will receive a new Bed.
On Monday 31st of August 2021 The courier delivered the bed and I asked the driver where he had collected the bed and He said at the store in Somerset West. I signed the paperwork and immediately contacted the store and they told me I don't have to worry they have sanitized the bed.
I then drove from Strand to the store to go speak to the Manager and he said he will give me a gift from the store because he cant give me discount on the demo bed. I also told him I am unhappy because if I knew the bed was coming from the store I could have collected the bed myself and saved the R350 delivery Fee, He said he will refund that for me and Im still waiting for the money to reflect in my account.
I told him that I would consider accepting a free gift but I will first inspect the condition of the bed and will come back to him, On Tuesday I went back to the store and told him I will Keep the bed although there are a few marks on the Mattress.
We decide to take a Free gift as promised, but we feel that our efforts, patience and hard earned money is not worth a free gift of R300 offered by the Manager.
