No Response Reference

I have been trying to get hold of LG Electronics HR department to confirm employment of one employee. Its taken me 3 days to try and get through to HR and not even getting a response. The switchboard lady at the number 011 323 8000 is so unfriendly and not a help at all. I got through to Princess at HR on wednesday and she said she would get back to me to inform if that person had worked there and still, no response. I have been phoning back continuously but no answer at all. It is such an inconvience as i need to do a reference check and now my client is placed on hold due to lack of service and professionalism. How should i now go about this as i have been "googling"different links to try get contact numbers that i could phone in order to get hold of these people but NO luck. I even contacted an old employee of LG Electronics and he gave me the same number 0800545454. I am fed up trying. I not only have my manager down my neck but the client too as this is a big part of our process that we do. I still need someone that i can contact as i NEED this reference check done!!!
