I've had my Galaxy SIII since July 1012. On 28 January 2013 after charging my phone for about 4 hours, I thought there was a hair on my screen. I then realised it was a curved crack from the top left to almost half way on the left. My phone was perfectly fine when I put it on charge and was cracked a few hours later. I never dropped it. There is no impact mark and the crack cannot be felt. I phoned the Samsung helpline and was told to take my phone to their service centre called Darro 2 in Boksburg. I then phoned Darro 2 to ask where they were located and to ask if I could bring my phone in for an assessment and explained what had mysteriously happened. A snotty young girl called Ashleigh said it was physical damage and would not be covered by my warranty (which is still valid). She said that it was impossible for a phone screen to crack by itself. I asked her if she was saying that I was lying and she said, "No, but it's impossible to crack itself". So I was basically being told that I had broken my own phone and would be liable for repair payment. I have found countless complaints online about the same problem the world over. I do not appreciate the accusation of lying.
