Darro-Electronics: Samsung S3 -Taken for a ride

In Sep my Samsung S3 mini seized working. My phone was sent to Darro-Electronics as it was still under warranty. NB to note that my phone screen had cracked after dropping it in the first week I had it. The phone was working fine though. After 3weeks I followed up to hear how far my repair is and I was given feedback that the phone went in for repairs on the 25th of Sep. Oct 7 I mailed again to inquire about progress.

On the 8th I was informed that a quote would be sent to me as the LCD screen was cracked. (Phone still not looked at 5weeks since hand in) I then informed that I did not want the screen fixed as per original instruction. I want it operational as it wasn't switching on. Reply: "Unfortunately we are unable to just repair the other part of the problem without replacing the LCD - we have opened up the unit and found corrosion on the charging block which entails that we need to replace the Main Board as well.

I thus rejected the quote for the amount of R2396 as I thought this was hogwash. Upon receiving my phone back I charged it over the weekend hoping it would work and to my amazement it worked. I feel someone was trying to make a quick buck here and this is unacceptable.
