S3 Cracked Screen

I upgraded to a Samsung S3 Galaxy in the beginning of the year. It was brilliant, photo quality tops, reception tops, and that's exactly how it is advertised... but, nobody told me that it was like a crystal glass, you drop it off the dining room table, in a pouch, it would crack the screen!!! Maybe you should advertise it as such.
Now my screen is cracked, a little crack, and I just don't have the bucks to fix it!!! I was quoted in the region of R3000 to fix it. What if I do fix it and I accidently drop it again. It is just not worth it, And the best of all is, it was in a Samsung pouch that also cost quite a bit of bucks.

I spoke to a guy on your Samsung Live Chat yesterday by the name Karabo, who said that Samsung will be in touch; ref no: 7112021704... well I am still waiting.

I also went through to Samsung yesterday in Century City who also advised me that nothing can be done, unless I pay the money to fix it. They did however inform me that the new S4 Galaxy's do come out with a warranty if the screen cracks... so why not the S3? Obviously it is a problem.
Please advise as how we can go about sorting this matter out.
