I purchased a Sony EXPERIA GO with great excitement as I had waited a while for my Vodacom upgrade. I decided on the Sony EXPERIA GO as it was portrayed in the official advertising videos as a" RUGGED" phone and due to my low blood pressure I tend to drop things very often so this seemed like the perfect phone for me. 2 days after purchase I dropped it while removing my keys from my waist pocket and it fell to the floor, shattering the screen. On contacting Sony via Vodacom, I was informed that this is not a SONY problem and it will cost me approximately R1400 to repair as the screen is shatterproof mineral glass! I understand the damage was as a result of it falling and not a factory fault, but then why is it advertised as a rugged phone and in the official advert on YOU TUBE and Television the phone is shown on more than 1 occasion to fall. This surely amounts to the product being portrayed incorrectly? The Sony website says "MADE TO RESIST" and "an Android smartphone you never have to worry about" and "We've designed Xperia (TM) go to handle everything life dishes out."
What a disappointment and SONY"s attitude of not interested is shocking.
I await to hear from Sony.
