I called Brad (owner of Hobix Electrical), i asked him to please give me a quote for a 2nd opinion on a COC. He said he charges R850 for the certificate. He came to my house to quote. When he was done he said I had to pay him R850 cash for that. I was not happy about that. I accepted the first offer to do the COC so I called Brad and said would he pay me back some of the money as he didnt get the job, he said no. He charges R850 for the COC whether or not you accept his quote. I think thats a total rip off to pay him R850 to tell me what needs to be done for a COC. He wanted cash only and would not accept an EFT, he wanted it before he left my house. I feel that he only did it as I am a female and he took advantage of me and the situation. He would hear nothing about giving me some of the cash back. I can understand a reasonable call out rate but he charged me R850 which he said is what he charges for the COC certificate. Very unhappy.
