I bought my house in 2010 and was given a certificate of compliance for the house by Steed Electrical (UJ Els), and according to the certificate the house past compliance, when selling my house I contacted Steed Electrical again to do the COC certificate. This time round I was quote over R6900.00 for work to be done on repairs as they are not complaint. I called the company back requesting to know why I was quoted for work to be done when the past the same work off on a certificate in 2010. I was called back by the manager to say that the ownership had changed a few days after I had received the certificate and he is not liable for poor work that was done on the previous owner. I find this very unlikly as the person I was told to call as per my first certificate still owns the company. I think that passing the buck on work just to get a few rands is disgusting.
