I have extended my patio and since the patio is quit high, the decision was taken to make the bottom part a storage area. I have paid R23, 000 additional for the storage area. As soon as the rain came, water poured in. The Build Shop refused to rectify the problem. According to him he did not specify that the storeroom would be waterproofed... I have spoken to a legal consultant who specialises in building disputes. He said that even though no waterproofing has been specified, it is normal building practice and "duty of care" to waterproof anyway... Since it will be very costly to pursue the matter any further I am stuck and left with no other option than to fix the problem myself
