These people were our friends. They were contracted to build a lapa and do paving around the pool.
This work was done so poorly and sub-standard that the Kempton Park building inspector has rejected the work.
They had mislead us from the first day (with a computer presentation and clever worded quotation), taken our money (not refunded the bricks they never bought and did not pave the quoted full 1 meter area around the pool, or supplied the building drawings that we paid for) and left us with a building project that cannot be approved by local council.
They had also not used the required amount of cement in the building mixtures as well as at the rock art, leaving the work done, unsafe. Not to mention that they did not put a foundation below the walls build, or a spark arrestor in the chimney to the grass lapa. Using a level, it is unbelievable how skew the building is.
After 5 weeks, many emails, talks and site meetings, we had lost all confidence in their ability to do the work properly and refused them further access to the site.
We now need a lawyer to help with this case to get our money back, Maybe you can suggest one?
