Poor communication, poor workmanship

I contracted Advance Pools to install a pool at my house. The plan was to have decking installed once the pool had been installed. With this in mind, I had the deck guy and Gerhard from Advance Pools round to discuss the finer details of the installation.

It became clear very quickly when work had commenced, that the guys doing the installation had no idea what was supposed to go where, they did not even have a copy of the plans. Despite the fact that I had explained everything to Advance Pools, I had to repeatedly take off work during the day to make sure that they were in fact following the plans.

I later found out that they didn't even work for Advance Pools, but were in fact a subcontracted pool company.

When I complained to Advance Pools about the problems that their subcontractors were having, I was met with delayed responses and a lack of feedback. The work was eventually completed, after much waiting.

I found out, once decking guys had already sunken the foundations and started laying decking, that the pool had been put in skew, and that there is an air pocket under the pool. No meaningful feedback for 2 weeks!!

Disappointing. I would not recommend them.
