After explaining to the salesperson at Acme hardware that we were stuck without power for a weekend, we were sold a generator that could run long periods at a time. We installed it at around 11am, used it only for the fridge, television and the kettle every now and then. At around 5pm it stopped generating electricity, on Monday we phoned and informed them, took them more than a week to fetch it, we were told it did not come with a guarantee but a warranty, which apparently means it would not be replaced but repaired. We kept phoning to find out when it would be returned and after many broken promises were eventually told it had been repaired and would be delivered shortly, A few days after a man phoned us and told us we had broken the generator by overloading it (wonder what happened to the trip switch) and we would have to fork out another R1100 for the repairs. After collecting it. where our complaints were met with shrugged shoulders, I phoned to find out the owners name and was rudely told it could not be given to me unless I stated why I needed it. When I insisted that I only wanted the name, the phone was slammed down in my ear. DO NOT EVER BUY FROM THEM, YOU WILL BE SORRY.
