The airconditioner in my car was not working, and so we took it to Talrad to fix. Without looking to find the problem, the person helping us promptly filling the aircon with gas and assuring us that the gas was finished and that there was no other problem. He told us that we must leave the aircon on for an hour to prove that the aircon was now fixed.
The aircon obviously worked for that hour and the rest of that day, however the next day it had reverted to not working again. We took it back to Talrad, and were then told that there was a leak in the aircon which was why it leaked and unfortunately they didn't have the equipment to fix a leak. Furthermore they told us that there was nothing they could and so went R600 down the drain.
This is blatant. Knowing they had no equipment to fix a leak they made a quick buck by filling the aircon with gas and ripping us off, and not even being abashed about it when spoken to.
