We had a problem with our generator that we share with Nando's, it failed to kick in during a power outage at night. We called New Way because they installed the thing in the first place. It turned out that one of the Nando's staff had bumped the emergency stop button, and they were now closed, when the outage happened.
New Way came out, charged us R4.50 per kilometre and R450ph. We were billed for 50km despite the business being only 17km from us, plus also for 2hrs labour. They say that not only do we pay per kilometre but we also pay for the driving time involved to come to us and also to go back to their offices.
This is daylight and they should be ashamed of themselves for conducting business in this manner.
If I am paying for the AA rate for travelling then why should I then have to pay for the driving also. It is after all there machine, and they are quick to demand payment yet they have called us on numerous occassions to say that they owe us money yet we are still waiting for that to be paid to us, and have the audicity to demand payment for a job that took 5mins and charged us for 2hrs.
