Various equipment failed

I went to buy 2 Multimedia players from Matrix and after plugging it in the one failed. It was swopped out. I came home and tested the other player it too failed after a half an hour. I was to late to take it back and send my wife to return it the next day because I was leaving for work. She got there and the kept the unit behind for testing. It was found to be faulty. In this time our portable hard drive's power supply acted up and I told her to take it to Matrix build it over in another casing. The hard drive was in working condition. They swopped out the Player for the New HDD Casing. She got home and plugged the unit in and suddenly it did not work. I asked her to read me the instructions for the casing over the phone when I spoke to her, just to find out that you must first plug the casing in without the HDD in it to let it charge for a half an hour, then you must install the drive and it will be ready for use. My wife is not technical and I feel they should have told her that. It looks like the 2 TB drive is now broken. I am worried about the photo's I have lost and also who will reimburse me for my drive! Bad technical team. I will never buy at Matrix again.
