Having had pastel's help service contract for a number of years and never using it, i asked the salespserson who sent me a renewal notice, what value i was getting for my money for. She was unable or unwilling to give me a straight answer after a series of emails, so i cancelled the service. Today, on opening my pastel programme i was instructed to do an update which i did. Now, when i open it asks me to update so it can rebuild my company data. i did that, but get the same message again. Nobody at Pastel will talk to me until i have paid for the contract. I feel forced into a corner about this - why did the update not say that proceeding will halt my programme if i am not paid up? Why did someone from higher up not contact me to 'sell' me their product - instead of provoking me to wrath?
