We changed our accounting software from QuickBooks to Pastel Evolution last year and I have regretted it ever since. Pastel referred us to their agents, and we chose Fincom who customised our BIC report. As an NGO with multiple departments and segments we could not use the generic training for BIC We engaged Fincom to develop the report for us and train us on how to populate the report. It required certain IT expertise to develop this report which your average financial person does not have. Now we need to do maintenance on the BIC report, but Fincom does not provide support on Evolution or the BIC report any longer, in fact the person who did this work for us is now working for Pastel themselves. Pastel does not provide onsite support anymore, and nothing for BIC customised reporting. I feel Pastel should be more responsible in engaging agents, and the customer should be better informed about what services the agent and Pastel provides. Potential customers of Pastel and their agents, must make sure what support is available and from whom before they buy. Neither Fincom or Pastel are prepared to help us. What should we do?
