This person advertised the front end (forks, wheel, brakes, triple clamps, and all controls) from a Yamaha R1..on gumtree.
I wanted to buy this for my motorcycle project. The picture provided was one of a perfect set with good aftermarket "wavy" brake discs and all controls... electric and mechanical.
I contacted him and asked if the the set was in good condition and not damaged in any way... also to confirm that the set in the ad was the one I would be buying as he was advertising another set with different brake discs and it also did not have all the controls.
He assured my that there is no damage so I paid R4500 and he sent the set to me.
When it arrived it was in fact the wrong set and I was shocked to find both forks bent, wheel axle bent, triple clamps bent and electronic controls missing.
I tried phoning but he refused to take my calls, twice he answerd the call but did not speak. My emails with pics of the damged goods were ignored. The man is defiant and refuses to acknowledge any wrongdoing.
The ads were conveniantly removed from gumtree the same day. to cover his tracks.
