I sent a laptop to Cape Town from Mossel Bay and had it bubble wrapped in 3 layers, corners in six layers. Also bought extra packaging at Post Office when sending. I bought new software and couldnt get it to work so I sent it back to IT shop for them to sort out. When arrived at destination the screen had the size of cellphone screen piece broken off, and the computer frame itself was dented and cracked, machine was totally unusable. Clearly it was dropped from a height or an extremely heavy object was placed on it during transit. Before sending I insured for R7, 000 as advised by Post Office. Long story short - Speed Couriers "analysis" is that the software is not original and the machine was discintinued in 2009, and is only worth R500. So I was robbed twice, once when bought in Middle East and second when Courirs destroyed my machine. They have since returned the machine and have not paid me out a cent (Postage R550 inc insurance). I cannot do my business or teach my kids (they are homeschoolers and need computer). I now have to take a loan which I cannot afford to buy a new computer. They even destroyed harddrive. Total cost to me R18, 900 total.
