We got quotes from 2 international moving companies and ended up choosing Magna-Thomson over the other because we were assured that their packing was good and that they DO NOT pack in an effort to maximise the final volume as others do. We were also told that their packers were guys that had been working for them for over 10 years.
3/4's of the way through the packing (SA side) I discovered that bedding, pillows, blankets & curtains had been packed in large boxes and sealed. The large shelves into which the assessor had said soft items would be packed into were standing empty!
When unpacking we could see which boxes had been packed by professionals & which had not. For instance one of the boxes had an old trash can with rubbish packed inside & used as a filler item for a boxed packed with pictures (some of which had broken glass from the move). Some boxes were crushed & furniture was DAMAGED. Other items had also been packed which were meant to be left behind.
We were charged quite a bit more for the move.
We've raised these issues a number of times with no resolution, apology or refund. I am very unhappy about having chosen Magna Thomson.
