Porsche Centre South Africa
Leaking geabox after 66000kms!

I am the proud owner of a Porsche 911 Carrera 4, year 2000, the ultimate in german automotive engineering, that's what I believed? The vehicle was purchased from Porsche Centre SA and was serviced in strict accordance with the servicing schedule by Porsche Centre Jhb since purchase.
During a service in 2010, I was notified by the service consultant of a leaking gearbox upon which he undertook to order a new gasket to rectify the leak. Having not heard anything further, at the next service I reminded another service consultant of the pending gearbox/leak/gasket issue only to be notified to my horror that instead of only replacing the gasket, the entire sealed gearbox must be replaced at an astronomical cost of R 120, 000.00 .
After having expressed my utter disgust and argument to the manufacturer's HQ, ie the gearbox having developed I suspect a leak at mid 50000kms on the odometer, I regard this failure as a inherent latent defect which must be remedied by the manufacturer under the product liability regulations and consumer protection act. Having been contacted by Porsche National After Sales Management in January to which I re-iterated my expectations, no response to date!!!
