I was in a car accident in December. As part of my insurance benefits I got a 30 day car hire. I picked up the car from the Avis in MenloPark on 2/1/13; paid a R 1000 deposit. car hire was extended for 13 days. Car was returned to Avis on the 14/2/13. I took out the windscreen and tyre damage cover which amounted to R15 per day. I had the car for 43 days X R15 per day plus 14% VAT = R 645 plus 14% R 90.3 = R 735.30.On 27/2/13 I realized that Avis charged me twice 06.02.13 ref Johan for R513 and 2nd19.02.13 for R896.50 REF Johan (R1409.5), I immediately went to the Avis in Menlo Park, Pretoria to enquire, was assisted by Mpetle who informed me that the check in date had been captured incorrectly by Katlego on their systems and the car was in actual fact returned on the 14th (was charged incorrectly for 2 extra days). I went to Avis again and was assisted by Natasha who promised to send an email and copy me to their accounts department to refund my money. No email, no money. I called the customer care spoke to Theo on the 11/3/13 was told to send an email sent 3 email still no word from Avis- I want my money, not sure what game Avis is playing at. I will take the matter forward.
