Bp Southern Africa
Overcharged for Petrol

I always go to BP situated on Kagiso Drive to fill up my car. I drive a Honda Jazz 1.4 2004 Model. I normally fill up my car when it is on quarter tank because the thought of being stuck because of petrol is nerve racking. Yesterday i went to fill up as always and surprised when I was charged over R600 for a 3/4 tank. The average Liters i put in my car weekly is 35L and 50L was a shock. I understand that petrol went up and that now I will pay a bit extra but over R600 from R400 did not make sense to me.

I paid, went home and had a chat with my husband who worked for Honda for years and he also did not understand how I was charged over 50L whereas my car can only take 42L. He drove back to the Petrol Station to complain, but the Manager named Matthew did not even give him the time of the day. He told him that we cannot prove that we still had a quarter tank in the car and that he knows our type. He said we are actually claiming that their petrol station is people and dismissed him. He said his petrol station is privately owned and BP SA does not have a say.

We then called the BP Southern Africa Call Centre to complain (Reference number 133761)
