I had my car filled with petrol at M1 Oasis in the morning and BP N1 South Beyers Naude on the evening of Friday 19 April. I normally fill my car every Friday at he N1 Beyers South. On the weekend I had a problem with the car and took it to the Renault dealer on the Monday - they checked and found that there was water in the petrol. I phoned the supervisor at Beyers Naude service station and he said there was no water in the petrol tank.

I then phoned BP Southern Africa about the problem - they asked me to take a sample to the Service station which I did. I asked the Renault people to give me 2 bottles of the petrol that was in the tank. The one I gave to
them and I kept the other.

After 3 weeks I had not heard from BP so I phoned them and was told that the sample I supplied was contaminated but that there was no contamination in their petrol.

They told me that nobody else complained - I would not know. It cost me R3200-00 plus the tank of petrol and they say that it is not their problem and therefore my complaint has been rejected. If there is anybody who has had the same problem I would really appreciate any feedback
