So today I had yet again a bad experience with Engen Garage on Rink Street.
Today (09-03-2013) I went to get my oil and water checked. The attendant gave me two pints of oil and told me the my transmission fluid needed to be topped up, assuming that he had some sort of training that qualified him to make this assumption I told him to go ahead and fill it up. Unfortunately I do not know much about cars and assume that the people who are employed to work with them do.
Turns out he filled the place allocated for BRAKE FLUID with Transmission Fluid. I have researched the matter and apparently this will cause damage in the future.
I have had several of these experiences with Engen staff, on previous occasions I had asked attendants to check my oil and specified that they should not add water as my engine was hot and I prefer to add anti-freeze and he put water in without consulting me.
My conclusion is that the staff can not be trusted with my car and from now on I will take the extra drive to Midas and fill my oil, anti-freeze, brake fluid and transmission fluid myself to save on repairs.
