I rented a car from Europcar at the airport (Durban), returned it four days later and refuelled as close as possible to the airport. (6/7Km). Check the car in and was told everything is fine. A week later I had to call to get my final invoice and refund. On the invoice I also had the amount of R73.50 or so. I called them and asked to explain how it was possible? I lodged a complainant, (sent an e-mail with proof of filling up) after a another full week nothing happened. I e-mailed them this morning, and finally got a reply and a phone call: the long and short of it, it is my problem and my loss... (they will refund the 50%)Not the best service I have ever experienced... I've used Europcar in Germany / UK in the past and have never experienced this. It is not about the money they can keep the money, I just find it sad that a company that had a good reputation now is squeezes out each cent regardless.
I suppose it's the African way, and we will have to get used to it!!! under these conditions I / our company will not make use of Europcar's services again. There are alternatives... it's quite funny that other people has experienced exactly the same? R73.50??
