I rented a car from Europcar through my Vitality. I was quoted a rate of R180 per day over the phone, with the discount. Fetched the car, had it for 7 days, 5pm on 04/06/2013 to just after 4pm on 11/06/2013. When I eventually received my statement on 13/06/2013, 2 days after returning the car, I was in fact charged R242.25 per day. I mailed Europcar debtors on 14/06/2013, stating I was billed incorrectly. I followed this up with 2 more e-mails and eventually got a reply on 21/06/2013, a week later. This mail stated that I had to send a copy of my quote, signed "yours PERSONALLY, Debtors" thought this was quite funny! I replied on 24/06/2013 that it was a telephonic quote, surely if they want written quotes when you complain, they should actually send you one to start off with! I followed this mail up with another reminder on 02/07/2013 and still to this day not even a response. I will never rent another car from Europcar and have highly recommended to my company to also not make use of them.
