We used the Group B Vehicle Hire option on our insurance while our vehicle was in for hail damage repairs. The vehicle was delivered to my wife's work premises on time. The service from Avis was great until my wife brought the car home. This is where the disappointment of Avis's vehicle policy rears its ugly head. My wife arrived home with a Toyota Etios. On Avis's website a Group B vehicle is a VW Polo Hatch (New Polo picture) or similar vehicles. As a Toyota Etios is a Toyota entry level vehicle, I associate it with vehicles like the Hyundai i10 or Kia Picanto (even that is pushing it a little far as the Etios is a tin can on wheels. The build quality is poor - nowhere near the quality of the Hyundai or Kia), I felt that they provided my wife with a Group M car. I contacted the Avis toll free number and was surprised to be told that the Etios falls in the Group B category. WHAT A JOKE!!! When I pay for a Group B vehicle on my policy, I expect a vehicle like a VW Polo, Toyota Yaris, Hyundai i20 or Kia Rio.
