I have been unfairly billed for damages for a car rental. I picked up the rental car late on a rainy night in Durban, I was told which bay to pick up the car from, no staff inspected the vehicle with me. When i returned the car I was told that I am liable for damages. I know that I did not damage the car as I only drove it to and from family houses. I queried the billing and was told by the King Shaka branch manager that it was my responsibility to check the car even in the rain.
I think that this is completely unjust and unethical to bill someone for a scratch that was already on the car.
