If you hire a car from Avis make sure you check the car very carefully as at the OT Tambo office it is not very light where you pick up the car. they also do not bother to check the car very well as they are TOO BUSY!! BUT on return of the car they are very meticulous to check for any damages (under very nice lighting...)
They have just debited my account for R2500 for a tiny scratch that was not picked up by myself or their check staff... it is my Credit Card and you do not have authorization to just take my money!
The whole rental process is flawed with human error as it is all paper bases so often it their word against yours...
often they will find one scratch but after you check they will have to write down about 5-10 areas that their team overlooked or just did not bother to mark down...
So just make sure you check your vehicles properly as this whole process is a LOTTERY!!
