On collecting my group C car rental I specified that i wanted the maximum possible insurance and the consultant said since it was an internet booking i couldn't upgrade the insurance but he checked and said i had booked the maximum cover so that was fine. A day later whilst driving the car i got a puncture and had to put the spare tyre on. I took the car back to swap it for one with a spare, which the consultant quickly arranged. However I was then told it would cost R920 for the punctured tyre. I was informed that I would have needed tyre cover to avoid this and that this had been offered to me when i collected the vehicle. In fact this was never offered and I was told that I had the maximum possible insurance. I mentioned this to the consultant as it was the same one but he claimed I had only asked about extra kilometres (which I had never mentioned).
