I was unknowingly sold a Mercedes Benz 350 CLC with a spare tyre that doesn't fit the car. Last week I had a flat tyre, tried to fit the spare but it wouldn't fit. I alerted Mercedes Benz to this and they informed me that they could do nothing about it so I was forced to buy a new tyre. I then brought it to their attention again and I was told that this is a factory fault that they had been aware of. When the car was shown to me, it was with a spare tyre in the boot well. They have now said that the boot well in the car cannot fit the right size spare and my options are to accept a spare tyre that in my boot (and takes up all my boot space) or trade in my car for something else. I was mislead into believing that the car was aesthectically pleasing when it was in fact not. Furthermore, I have been put at risk by not having a spare tyre. I am also deeply concerned that they were aware of the problem and still allowed their customers (me) to drive around without a functional spare in a very unsafe country. I've had no further response from Mercedes Benz since last Wednesday. They're aware that I am driving around without a spare and continue to do nothing about it.
