Have you checked if the spare tyre supplied by Daihatsu is the same as the other four? If not identical to the others check your Owner's Manual for the following warnings:
" WARNING
1) Do not mix different types, sizes and manufacturers of tires on your vehicle. You could lose the control of your vehicle."
Instruction on standard tire replacement (for 4WD vehicles).
2) When replacing the tires, be sure to install tires of the same size, the same manufacturer, the same brand and the same tread patterns. Also, inflate the tires to the specified air pressure"
The tyre provided by Daihatsu is not even an off-road tyre so if you happen to lose control of the vehicle whilst driving with the inappropriate spare, it is unlikely that your insurance company will cover your losses! Your finance company will have a problem too as they only finance insured vehicles!
I contacted Daihatsu SA about this 'oversight' - they chose to ignore the issue.
I suugest that you contact your dealer and demand to have the correct spare tyre supplied to you free of charge. Happy driving in a great vehicle.
