Overcharging on Repairs that needs to be done

Good day,

My Citroen C3 2005 Model's cambelt broke a few months after I bought it from Lindsay Saker Midrand, my insurance towed my vehicle to the nearest garage that was Citroen Hatfield.

Lindsay Saker Midrand refused to pay the damages and could not give me proof that the cambelt was replaced when they did my service at around 82000km before I bought it, the result being that my extended warranty would not cover these damages.

I got a quote from Citroen Hatfield for the repairs of my vehicle. This quote was around R35 000.00. I however could not afford this so we towed my vehicle home and it stood there for around 8 - 9 months.

A friend of mine said he would help me fix this I just needed to buy the parts. All and all we got the car fixed for under R 8000.00

The shocking part was that Citroen Hatfield Quoted on one exhaust valve R 1319.60. We got all four Exhaust valves from Citroen Centurion for R1400.00.

If Citroen Hatfield's prices was so much more on this one item, what would it have been on the entire quote?

This caused me to not have a vehicle for months and I had to fix my vehicle on my on with a friends help when I could have had professionals doing it.
