I have rented a car via Kulula and Discovery Health from Europcar from King Shaka Airport. I have travelled to Margate where I dropped off the vehicle at the Margate Airport - official Europcar branch.
I have only rented the car for 1-day at a cost (as per quote) of R 241.00. I was informed by Kulula when I received the car voucher and confirmation that a 'one way drop off fee MAY be charged' - NO AMOUNT of any kind was indicated. I checked the Europcar website and could NOT find these tariffs for one way drop offs on their website!!! I continued with the rental and assumed that the amount will not be excessive since the DAY RENTAL is only R 241.00.
To my absolute SHOCK the one-way drop off fee was R 310.00 (for a trip of 122 km).
The rental of this entry level car for 1-day is now costing me R 729.31 - ABSOLUTELY RIDICULESS!!!
After trying to resolve the matter I was kindly informed by the call center (after my call was transferred 4 times and I was on hold for over 15 minutes) that she cannot help me and that the have credited my credit card implying that they have their money and tough luck to me... Needless to say I am DONE with Europcar...
