On 7th October 2013, I went to fill up my car in Shell, Ashley Motors, on Marianhill in Pinetown. A trainee petrol attendant put oil in the place of water of my E320 Mercedes. I reported the matter to the Station Manager who was reluctant to come and attend to the problem, saying it was already after hours and all places are closed and there was nothing he could do about the problem. Never mind that I had been at the station for almost an hour with my child still in his school uniform while the staff tried to drain oil from the car. It was already after nine at night when my mechanic arrived. He used engine cleaner to clean out the oil, later the car started over heating and twice we got stuck on the freeway fetching the children from school. I told the station manager of the situation, he said via email to let the mechanic communicate with him directly. Later he changed his mind and refused to pay. It has been two months without a car, I have paid over R10 000 for repairs, problem still not fixed, Station Manager refuses to pay, mechanic wants to strip engine and I want Shell Ashley Motors to pay for the damage they caused to my car engine and the inconvenience they caused me.
