I am busy having my Ford Ranger serviced by our local dealership. They just phoned to inform me that my air filter is blocked, but that the service plan of FORD only allows for replacement every 45 000km. How ridiculous is that. The top brass of FORD that take these kind of decisions drive on tarred roads everyday and don't know what its like to drive on a dust road. Now my engine must work much harder, because of the blocked air filter. This is not good for the engine and one day when the vehicle is out of guarantee and the enine gives in, I, the client must pay to repair the engine, ALL BECAUSE IT WAS NOT PROPERLY MAINTAINED DURING ITS SERVICE PLAN PERIOD..This is not acceptable. PEOPLE BE AWARE OUT THERE, BY WHAT GETS REPLACED DURING YOUR SERVICE PLAN, AND WHAT NOT, HERE THE PUBLIC IS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT THERE VEHICLES ARE MAINTAINED PROPERLY, BUT THATS NOT THE CASE.
Seems its time to move to another manufacturer, that cares about maintaining there vehicles under the service plans.
