I took my car in for a service at Lyndhurst Auto. It is still covered under the motorplan service facility. I was then called and told that they cannot service my car until I pay R5000 for some check they need to do, since I am more than 2000km's late for the service. My biggest frustration is that I had been late before and i have asked the service consultant at Lyndhurst auto whether there were any limitations on the motorplan and if it was a problem that it is late? The answer was categoricall NO. The only limitation were the 100 000kms or 5years. If I had known about this I would have certainly brought it in earlier. The other point is that the mileage is not accurate anyway. One week I am 1000kms overdue and even though I have only travelled another 100km's, the next week it reflects 2500kms, so this is just all seems like a moneymaking raquet to me. I will never go back to Lyndhurrs Auto and I am even considering a change of vehicle. I cannot believe that BMW SA would allow their loyal customers to be treated this way!
