Lyndhurst Auto
BMW takes a whole week to replace a battery

On Good Friday my car battery was flat. BMW on Call started the car but the battery was flat again on Saturday. On Tuesday, after the public holidays, BMW on Call started the car and we took the car to Lyndhurst to have the battery charged and tested. Lyndhurst did not charge the battery overnight as they said they would do. The next day we were told that we would have to pay R800.00 per hour (for 2 hours) for the battery to be charged. The car has a full maintenance plan. The battery is covered. Lyndhurst says there is a 3rd party tracking device that is drawing power. We bought the car new from Autobahn Isando. We never fitted and have never paid for any tracking device. Lyndhurst Auto will not release the car and BMW head office says they will have to make enquiries which have a 24 to 48 hour turn around. I will probably not get my car back until Tuesday. A whole week for BMW to change a battery is absurd. Why should I be expected to pay this bill? If there is a tracking device in the vehicle then BMW must have put it in when it was on the showroom floor. It's always the customer who loses out in cases like this.
