I went to shell garage running on a reserved tank, when i got to the attended, i handed him my bank card to swipe and immediately when he saw credit card written on it he said "sorry we do not accept credit cards, i calmly explained to him that it is linked with my debit cheque account so that i wont carry lots of cards, i advised him to try the card and it should give him options to select type of account be he did not want to and the cashier inside just stared at me as if i was telling some tales, i was running late and so angry that i had to go to the farest sasol garage where i found an attended who listened to me and tried my card and all went well as he was able to select my cheque account from listed options and i thought to with shell garage with their ignorant illiterates!
