I had a shocking experience with a company by the name Steering & CV Solutions.
They fitted a new steering rack and boot rubbers on my car in August.
Since then I have driven all over South Africa.
When my car was serviced and the brake disc pads replaced last week, it was pointed out that one of the boot rubber clamps had come undone (in fact it was nowhere to be found) and most of the grease had seeped out.
I went to Steering & CV Solutions asking them to please fit another clamp.
The lady at the reception was totally disinterested and stated that "someone else must have removed the clamp" and therefore I would have to pay R 280 to have another clamp fitted.
Then she became downright rude - to the extent that she even told me to take the car elsewhere to have the clamp fitted!
When I asked for the owner, she retorted that he was not in and that I could come back next week if I wanted to.
As I was concerned that further damage would be done by driving the car in the state that it was, I grudgingly paid the R 280.
It is indeed sad that I had to pay so much for a job that took a few minutes to attend to - but more importantly that I had to pay for a workshop comeback.
