Clearly, if you think you're going to be able to claim, you're mistaken. They're very efficient about taking money, but not so much about honouring their responsibility to pay out a valid warranty claim.
In January 2012 we arranged a 60000km/2 year warranty on a Ford Focus we purchased from a Mccarthy dealership on the West Rand. The car now has 72000km on the clock is within the extended warranty period. The power steering pump has failed and Mccarthy refuses to pay the warranty claiming that this is "wear and tear" and not a failure. What this is effectively saying is that powering steering pumps will never be covered by warranty. One can only guess what parts this warranty would cover.
All I'm saying is: Don't let a Mccarthy salesman ever talk you into an extended warranty. It would be worth it if they honoured claims, but they don't. Its fear mongering and you'll just be wasting your money. So, we've effectively paid twice. First for the warranty, second for the actual repairs. Disgusting. Should be ashamed of themselves. Typical Bidvest.
