Renault South Africa
2 Months for a Headlamp

23 August saw me take delivery of my new Renault Clio 4. The 30th of August, I was involved in a vehicle collision. Being a Friday, the assessment of the vehicle was only done the following Monday. It was only on the 4th of September that repairs commenced on the vehicle.

Let's fast forward to the 31st of October. The vehicle is still at the panelbeaters. It was at this stage Mr Nice Guy was not working. I contacted the panelbeaters (not for first time), and received more excuses. It appears them and sales men are one-of-a-kind. Needless to say, I was directed toward Renault SA on 011 607 7300. I chatted to a gentleman who said I would receive a call 1st thing the next morning. Guess what? Only an e-mail trickles in at 09:12. Apparently the 2 parts that are still outstanding - a front left headlamp and the airgbag wiring loom - are "so new that they do not have SAP or part numbers". Thus, they don't belong in the system, which means they can't be ordered. Therefore, no ETA. Now it's taken 2 months. If I didn't call, when was Renault going to pick up on this? I'm still waiting...

No provisions made for a courtesy vehicle either.

Should never have got you in the first place!!
