I booked my car for a service with McCarthy Volkswagen Menlyn branch. Gave the car off early morning for the service. My "service person" was Tanya which I never got to speak to throughout the day. Received terrible service from the minute I got to this garage.
When I picked up my car in the afternoon, after waiting for an hour, not being helped by anyone (they all ran around like headless chickens) I was told that their Bank card machine has not been working all day. Then I was told that I cant get my car if I dont pay as if it is my fault that their card machine is not working.
Then I was referred to the "Service Manager". What an absolute idiotic man! He treated me like a COMMON CRIMINAL saying "we have thousands of Rands that have to be paid, so sorry but how do I know you are going to pay us" This was said to me in front of other customers. I have NEVER in my life been treated in this way. If he was any type of service manager surely, if their card was not working the entire day, it would be up to him to fix the problem, get another machine, or at the very least let customers know about the problem beforehand to make other arrangements.
