In April this year a bought a "new car" Polo Vivo from Jaco Vos at VW Menlyn, the car had 19 000km on the clock. Got very good service from Jaco (obviously to sell the car). I have put down a substantial amount cash for a deposit. Now, 4 months later, as soon as you try to brake, the front wheels start to shake terribly. The car now has 28 000km on the clock. I took the car to VW Fourways who informed me that the brake pads were worn out. I called Menlyn to enquire about this as Fourways informed me that I will have to pay the R2000 for the repairs. Jaco has ever since left the company so I spoke to Henk. Henk, not very friendly, took my details, called back and informed me that the "service warranty" has expired and I will have to pay for this. I would just like to know if this is how VW do business?? Is it really a new owners responsibility to pay for brake pads just after 4 months?? This tells me that "new cars" bought at this dealership has not been properly checked! I would really like to know why I have to pay for this? Looking at all the complains about VW Menlyn on here just makes one wonder.
Looking forward to a reply
Regards Marius.
