I took my car in for the regular 15, 000 km service at the end of April. When I collected my car, I was advised that my brake pads needed to be replaced and was quoted just over R7, 000 (excluding labour). Including labour the total cost would be closer to R8, 000. FOR BRAKE PADS!!! I don't want new wheels for the car, just brake pads.
This amount seemed completely excessive and I decided to see if it can be done for less.
To my surprise, I found that after less than 5 telephone calls, I found premium rated brake pads with the necessary guarantees for R2, 800. I was then quoted R500 to fit the brake pads as it takes less than 30 minutes to do so. What the???
Nissan: R7, 000
Me: R2, 800
Saving of R4, 300!!
I have now been driving my car for more than 3 months with the new brake pads without any hassles.
Is this daylight??? Yes it is.
You should be ashamed of yourselves Nissan.
No wonder people in this country look for "alternative" ways of doing things. It is because of companies like you that rip us off. Rest assured my next car will not be a Nissan, no matter how badly I want the GT-R!!
