I rented a Honda Jazz from Avis at King Shaka International Airport between 28-30 June. They had put a hold on my card for an amount of R1118 for the refundable deposit. The car was returned on time on 30 June 2013, and a refuel amount was debited on my card the following day.
It has now been three months since I returned the vehicle, yet Avis still has a hold on my card for that amount. I spoke to my banker about 2 weeks ago, who liaised with Avis directly, and received a call from Avis promising that the amount would be promptly refunded. I am currently still waiting.
