Customers who elect to pay R4300 more for DHL express international shipping than normal shipping expect with good reason quick, responsive and reasonable service. The Consumer Protection Act specifically address this expectation!
My express package left Hong Kong on Mon, to arrive in SA on Wed - Well done DHL International!
It was processed by Customs by Thurs - Well done Customs!
The package according to DHL whom I called was ready for collection on Sat, or will be delivered by Mon.
DHL Cape Town did not deliver on Mon - with no good reason. Nobody contacted me. I called in the afternoon to learn it was too late now to deliver.
On Tues Customs recalled package asking invoice (random check I was told) Nobody called me. I had to call to find out, and emailed docs immediately. I asked email to confirm the docs were received. No reply. I called again, again. On Wed I called - nothing.
Negligence from DHL caused me to receive cheap and delayed service. I expect DHL to refund part of the shipping cost, even if it is R20 out of the R4300, to admit they failed. The admin clark update the status to "customs/clearance" early/late to pass the buck.
